Seminar 'Introduction to Critical Discourse Analysis'

On 25-27 May 2021, IDAES-UVigo organised the research seminar ‘Introduction to Critical Discourse Analysis'. The seminar was conducted by Dr Eva María Gómez Jiménez, who lectures at the University of Granada in the Department of English and German, and was an academic visitor in the LVTC research group during the 2020/2021 academic year. Dr Gómez Jiménez’s research in CDA, wich was given specific academic support during her postdoc research stay in Birmingham, is currently focused on the linguistic representation of economic inequality in the British press in recent decades, using corpus-linguistics techniques, so this seminar was a perfect combination of corpus linguistics and discourse analysis.
